Student Activities

  • Hawkeye Patrol – Fourth and fifth grade students have an opportunity to participate in making our campus safer and more inviting by joining the Hawkeye Patrol. As a Hawkeye, students work with campus supervisors to remind students of the rules, mediate conflicts, and report back to the classroom teachers.
  • Band and Strings – A variety of instrumental music options are available to fourth and fifth grade students.
  • Chorus – We have a fourth and fifth grade chorus available for those students wishing to participate.
  • Winter and Spring Concerts – Our annual concerts feature our band, strings, chorus, and students from each grade level. The Band Concert is combined with Open House to give parents an opportunity to see events both inside and outside the classroom in one fun-filled evening.
  • Field Trips – Learning opportunities extend far beyond the classroom.  Your child will have the opportunity to take field trips having to do with State Standards!
  • Attendance Incentives – Quarterly incentives for students with PERECT attendance ranging from special presentations to prizes!
  • PTA – Megan Cope Elementary has a vibrant and involved PTA. Click the PTA link to the left for more details.
  • Movie Nights – PTA regularly sponsors movie nights in the Multi Purpose Room.
  • School Dances – Mother/Son and Father/Daughter dances are hosted each year as a chance for students and parents to dress up and spend some quality time together at school while also having fun with their friends.
  • Family Nights –We have many activities throughout the school year, including our annual Harvest Festival in October.  In addition, we have Accelerated Reader (AR) Nights, Science Fair Information Night, and PTA sponsored Movie Nights.
